Our Solution
Resource One’s team of lubrication experts assessed their process and recommended the use of Quaker Die Slick 4513 – a synthetic die lubricant able to produce bright and clean castings due to its Smart Polymer Technology. The technology makes use of reactive polymer blend that forms a tough barrier on hot areas of the die while lightly coating cooler, less demanding areas. This translates to reduced solder, enhanced release and wetting characteristics that produces bright and clean castings.
Impact
The company was able to produce shinier and brighter casted parts lowering the number of rejected casted parts from 10% to only 3%. Additionally, concentrated die lubricant consumption was reduced since less release agent is needed to prepare the die lube (dilution ratio increased from 1:40 to 1:100).
